'Face' and 'Ice' do not remain confined to a fixed identity; instead, they expand into the vast urban space we inhabit.
The city, where countless faces cross paths, resembles a massive block of ice, constantly freezing and melting.
The rigid, cold concrete surfaces of the skyscraper forest mirror the silence of frozen ice, yet the warmth and emotion of human lives flowing through it act as a subtle current that thaws the rigidness.
Moving beyond the exploration of an isolated inner self, my work captures the organic cycle of alienation (freezing) and connection (melting) within the urban landscape. Amidst the cold conformity of the city, I bring to life the fleeting moments of human warmth we must not lose.
‘얼굴’과 ‘얼음’은 단순히 고정된 정체성에 머무르지 않고, 내가 살아가는 거대한 도심 공간으로 확장됩니다.
수많은 얼굴이 교차하는 도시는 끊임없이 차갑게 얼어붙고 다시 녹아내리는 하나의 거대한 얼음과 같습니다.
빌딩 숲의 단단하고 냉정한 콘크리트 표면은 얼어붙은 얼음의 침묵을 닮았지만, 그 속을 바쁘게 흘러가는 인간의 온기와 감정은 얼음을 미세하게 녹이는 흐름이 됩니다.
나는 고정된 내면의 탐구를 넘어, 도시라는 공간 속에서 얼어붙고( alienation) 녹아내리는(connection) 삶의 유기적인 순환을 포착하고자 합니다. 이 차가운 도심의 정형성 속에서, 우리가 잃지 말아야 할 인간적인 온기의 찰나를 화면 위에 펼쳐냅니다.
