처음에는 견고한 구조처럼 보이지만, 시간이 흐를수록 내부의 균열과 감춰진 흔적들이 수면 위로 드러난다. 나는 이 지연된 붕괴(delayed collapse)의 과정을 인간의 심리와 연결하여 바라본다.
얼음이 끝내 소멸한 뒤 남는 것은 '뼈대'다. 뼈는 인간 존재의 가장 원초적인 구조이며, 감정과 기억이 모두 벗겨진 뒤에도 마지막까지 잔존하는 흔적이다.
나는 벽 위에 반복적으로 검은 자국을 남기며, 내면 깊숙이 숨겨진 불안과 충돌, 고독의 감각을 수행적으로 드러낸다. 이 검은 흔적들은 마치 얼음이 녹아 흘러내린 자국처럼 공간 전체를 서서히 침식해 나간다.
그리고 마지막에 남겨지는 단어는 ‘집’이다.
발음하는 순간 영어의 ‘ZIP(압축)’으로 치환되는 이 단어는 중의적인 의미를 갖는다. 집은 가장 안전해야 할 공간이지만 동시에 가장 깊은 상처와 기억이 잉태되는 장소이다. 나는 이 모든 감정이 꾹꾹 눌러 담긴 압축 파일(ZIP)과 같은 ‘집’이라는 글자를 반복적으로 쓰고 지우며, 인간이 끝내 돌아가고자 하는 회귀의 본능과 그곳으로부터 벗어나고자 하는 탈출의 감정을 동시에 폭로한다.
이 퍼포먼스는 얼음의 소멸에서 시작해 뼈와 심리적 흔적을 관통하며, 결국 인간 존재의 가장 근원적인 장소이자 기억의 압축체인 ‘집(ZIP)’으로 수렴되는 하나의 흐름이다.

At first, it appears to be a solid structure, but with the passage of time, its internal cracks and hidden fractures surface. I perceive this process of delayed collapse as a reflection of human psychology.
What remains after the ice finally vanishes is the framework—the bone. Bone is the most primitive structure of human existence, the ultimate trace left behind once all emotions and memories have been stripped away.
By repeatedly leaving black marks upon the wall, I expose the deep-seated anxieties, conflicts, and isolations of the inner mind. These dark traces slowly erode the entire space, akin to the stains left by melting ice.
Ultimately, the word that endures is “ZIP” (which phonetically translates to "Home" in Korean).
This word functions as a conceptual pun: it represents both the psychological sanctuary of "Home" and the mechanism of digital data compression ("ZIP"). Home is meant to be a sanctuary, yet it is precisely where the deepest wounds and memories originate. Through the repetitive act of writing and erasing the word "집(ZIP)" on the wall, I replicate the process of compressing and extracting these dense emotional files. I expose the simultaneous longing to return and the desperate urge to escape.
This performance initiates from the disappearance of ice, traverses through skeletal and psychological traces, and ultimately converges at “Home (ZIP)”—both the most fundamental site of human existence and the ultimate compression of human memory.
